This 6-day Gulmarg skiing package offers a perfect mix of adventure, learning, and relaxation. From arrival in Srinagar to daily skiing sessions in Gulmarg, every day is filled with snow activities, scenic views, and unforgettable experiences.
Arrival in Srinagar → Transfer to Gulmarg
Your journey begins at Srinagar Airport or your hotel in the city. Our driver will meet you at the designated pickup point and take you on the scenic 55 km drive to Gulmarg via Magam and Tangmarg. The road climbs through pine-covered hillsides before opening up to Gulmarg's famous white meadow at 2,650 metres. After check-in at your centrally heated hotel, the evening is free to settle in, take a short walk around the snow-covered town, and prepare for your first day on the slopes.
Ski Orientation & First Slope Session
After breakfast, your certified ski instructor introduces you to the equipment and safety basics before heading to the beginner slopes near the main meadow. On Day 2, you will learn how to balance, use your poles correctly, and execute the foundational snowplow technique that controls your speed. The baby slopes are gentle and well-suited to first-timers. Most beginners are pleasantly surprised by how quickly their confidence builds with proper guidance.
Building Skills on the Beginner Slopes
With one day of technique under your belt, Day 3 moves into consolidating your skills — smooth turns, controlled descents, and learning to read the slope. Your instructor works with the group at a comfortable pace, repeating and refining what you learned on Day 2 until it feels natural. By the end of this session most participants can descend the beginner slope independently. Evening dinner at the hotel.
Gondola Phase-1 Ride & Intermediate Terrain
Day 4 is the highlight of the skiing experience. After three days of practice, you will board the iconic Gulmarg Gondola Phase-1 — the cable car that rises from the main meadow up to Kongdori station at 3,100 metres. From here, the views of Nanga Parbat, the Pir Panjal range, and the Kashmir Valley are breathtaking. You will ski the wider, slightly steeper intermediate runs at Kongdori under your instructor's guidance, putting everything you have learned to use on real mountain terrain.
Free Day — Snow Activities & Exploration
Day 5 is unscheduled on purpose. Some guests choose to rent equipment independently and spend another morning skiing at their preferred slope. Others explore Gulmarg's surroundings — visiting the historic St. Mary's Church, walking to the Maharani Temple viewpoint, or simply sitting at a hillside café with kahwa and watching the mountains. Optional activities available independently on this day include snowmobiling, snow sledging, and horse riding on the meadow.
Check-out & Return to Srinagar
After breakfast and hotel check-out, your cab departs for Srinagar. You will be dropped at Srinagar Airport or your preferred location in the city. The drive back offers one last look at the pine forests and valley as you descend from the mountains — and plenty of time to plan your return trip.

The Gondola
The Gulmarg Gondola is a two-phase cable car system operated by the Jammu & Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCC). Phase 1 connects the base at Gulmarg to Kongdori (3,100 m). Phase 2 continues to Apharwat Peak (3,980 m) — the top phase is reserved for experienced and advanced skiers. ❄️ Snowfall Note: Gulmarg’s snowfall varies year to year, but January and February consistently offer the deepest snow base and best powder conditions. For beginner ski training, the period from 10 January to 20 February is the most reliable.
Winter Driving Note: During heavy snowfall, private cabs are allowed only up to Tangmarg. From Tangmarg to Gulmarg, authorised local union 4×4 vehicles operate. This is mandatory, and our package includes this transfer for a hassle-free experience.
